Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Goods and Services

  1. These Terms and Conditions apply to all goods and services provided by Lucy Ellis Leatherwork (LEL). By placing an order with LEL, you confirm your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Please read them, and the separate Privacy Policy, carefully and if there is anything unclear or you are unhappy with please contact us before placing your order.

Our website may contain links to websites owned by others and we are thus not responsible for such sites.


  1. Intellectual Property Rights

All rights in our designs, website and the content thereof remain the property of LEL and are protected by copyright.


  1. Orders

Orders for goods and services can be made in person, by telephone, email or through the LEL website.

5.1- Customers are reminded that all LEL products are made by hand, using traditional methods, and that leather is a natural product. Therefore variations and imperfections, which do not affect the use of goods supplied, can occur.

5.2- Images of products used on our website and social media are illustrative and colour and other details may vary.

If exact colour/appearance of a product is required, please make this clear to LEL and ask for a sample if appropriate.

5.3- Customers are responsible for giving accurate measurements and other information for bespoke orders. A measuring guide is provided on the website but please ask for further clarification if required.

5.4- Any estimate or quotation is valid for a maximum of 28 days, unless otherwise stated.

5.5- Any variation to the specification of a bespoke order must be communicated to LEL before work has commenced on the product. LEL will notify the customer of any change in price as a result of such change and the customer may choose one of the following:

                –Proceed with the original specification and price

                –Agree the revised specification and pay the revised price

                –Cancel the order


  1. Repairs

Where a customer asks LEL to repair an item belonging to the customer, LEL will assess items to be repaired and provide the customer with an estimate of cost and timing. This estimate can change according to the availability of materials; in which case LEL will advise the customer of any change, prior to undertaking the repair. If the customer chooses not to proceed with the repair, the items to be repaired will be returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.


  1. Ownership

Where goods are purchased from us, ownership of the goods does not pass to the customer         until LEL has received payment in full. Where we repair a customer’s own items, LEL is      entitled to retain such items until payment for the repair is made in full.


  1. Delivery

Dispatch times may vary and LEL is not responsible for delivery delays outside its control.


  1. Returns/Refunds

Items may be returned for a refund at the customer’s expense within 30 days provided that goods are unused and undamaged. Postage costs are non-refundable, nor are bespoke items or those which have been personalised. Safe carriage of returned items is the responsibility of the customer.


  1. Consumer Rights

Customers buying goods from LEL in their personal capacity are protected by Consumer Rights legislation. This includes a 14 day cooling-off period for goods purchased online with the exception of bespoke items which are exempt.


  1. Complaints

LEL operates a complaints handling procedure and tries to resolve disputes when they first arise. Please let us know if you have any complaints or comments.


  1. These terms and conditions are subject to the laws of England and Wales.
